Privacy Policy

The short version

Focus is private by design. Your name, your app usage, and your Screen Time data stay on your device. The only things that ever leave the app are anonymous analytics and your subscription status — never linked to your identity, and never used to track you across other apps or companies.

Stays on your device (never sent anywhere)

• Your name and age (optional, from onboarding) — on your device only, used to personalize the interface.
• Your focus sessions, schedules, and blocklist — on your device only.
• Your Screen Time data — this never reaches us. Blocking and screen-time charts run on Apple's Screen Time framework (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity); iOS renders those numbers inside an on-device sandbox that the app cannot read, export, or transmit. This is enforced by iOS, not by our goodwill.

What we collect (anonymous)

• Purchases and subscription status — through RevenueCat, our subscription provider, so your Focus Pro access works and can be restored. This includes your purchase history and an anonymous, randomly generated app-user ID together with your device's vendor identifier (IDFV). It is not linked to your name or email.
• Product interaction (usage analytics) — through PostHog, we collect anonymous events about how the app is used (for example onboarding steps completed, paywall views, app opens) to improve the app. These events are anonymous, are not linked to your identity, and are never used for advertising or cross-app tracking — which is why the app shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt.

We do not collect your contacts, photos, location, or Screen Time data. We do not sell or share personal data. We use no advertising SDKs.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Notifications

Local notifications (session endings, timer alarms, a one-time trial reminder) are scheduled on your device.

Apple Music search (Timer alarms)

If you search Apple Music for a custom alarm sound, that search goes directly to Apple via MusicKit under Apple's own privacy policy. We don't receive or store your searches.

Data deletion

Deleting the app removes all on-device data. To request deletion of the anonymous analytics or subscription records associated with your device, email us and we'll remove them.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the change will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
